For this Saturday, October 26, Mexico City will wake up with a minimum temperature of 8 to 10 degrees, while the maximum will reach 20 to 22 degrees. A cold environment with patches of fog is expected in the morning, which will then give way to a mild climate in the afternoon with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and a probability of isolated rain in CDMX, and intervals of showers in the State of Mexico.
The Secretary of Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection (SGIRPC) has activated a yellow alert in 5 municipalities of Mexico City due to the low temperatures expected. The municipalities under this alert are Álvaro Obregón, Cuajimalpa, Magdalena Contreras, Milpa Alta, and Tlalpan. Temperatures of 4 to 6 degrees are forecast for the dawn of Saturday, October 26.
Despite the cold conditions, no precipitation is expected in CDMX this Friday. In the afternoon, the sky will be clear to partly cloudy without rain, while in the southwest of the State of Mexico, intervals of showers are anticipated. Given this cold weather, the population is advised to take preventive measures, such as going to the health center in case of respiratory discomfort, staying well wrapped up, consuming water and vitamin-rich foods, and avoiding sudden changes in temperature.
On the other hand, for the weekend, an increase in the probability of rain is expected in the Valley of Mexico due to the influx of moisture and unstable upper air. This will result in rain and showers in areas of Querétaro, Hidalgo, Puebla, and the State of Mexico. Therefore, it is important to stay informed about the weather conditions before participating in events such as the Día de Muertos catrina parade and the nighttime bicycle ride that will take place in CDMX.
